Day 1 >>
ARRIVAL: Arrive at Pakyong airport and get transferred to your hotel at Gangtok. Straightforward drive taking approx. 4-5 hrs.depending on traffic and you will find that most of the drive runs parallel the Teesta, Sikkim’s primary river. The group will be arriving at varied timings hence we recommend assembling at the airport restaurant for convenience.
Day 2 >>
GANGTOK - LACHUNG: Lachung is the main base from where all trips to Yumthang valley and Zero Point are made. Located at approx. 9000 ft it is also a good point from where one can acclimatize. Post lunch at Lachung, we recommend walks around the village and enjoy the scenery. This is important to get used to higher altitudes. Rest for the evening.
Day 3 >>
LACHUNG - YUMTHANG - YUMESAMDONG HOT SPRINGS: Lachung to Yumthang Valley and return to Gangtok. This day also covers considerable ground exploring the famous Yumthang Valley situated at 12,000 feet in the Singba Rhododendron Sanctuary.
We will be doing things a bit different this time by taking you off the main course to a lovely Hot spring high up in the mountains at 14000 ft!
Evening Campfire if weather permits
RETURN TO LACHUNG: Return to Lachung by late evening to Camp.
Day 4 >>
LACHUNG- DZONGU: Post breakfast we depart for the lush lower region of Dzongu. Dzongu is a pristine undisturbed region in northern Sikkim – the protected special reserve of the aborigines of Sikkim – The Lepcha. Drive to Dzongu approx. 3 hrs. and we arrive by late afternoon.
MONASTERY VILLAGE TREK: Once unpacked and checked in we will have a local take us on a short village hike to the monastery. It’s a great way to get familiar with the area and set the mood for the coming day. Evening round of ‘Chi’ a local Millet Wine prepared in House!
Day 5 >>
EXPLORING DZONGU: We have a lot of options on this day depending on the mood and weather too. Post breakfast depart for an excursion to riverside. The route is good to walk so leave the vehicle in most parts for a good easy hike. We arrange for a fresh cooked meal at the riverside with produce from the nearby farms and some foraging in the woods! Visit en route some interesting sites and learn more about the Lepcha way of life. This is a good time to get some beverages chilled in the cool blue waters and spend the afternoon relaxed in the lush private environs!
Day 6 >>
DZONGU- RABONG: Post breakfast we depart for the southern province of Sikkim to the Bhutia hamlet of ‘Rabong’. Translated as ‘wet sheep’, Rabong, located at 6000 ft. is known to be a cold and very picturesque area overlooking the magnificent Mt Narsing range of the eastern Himalayas.
BERMIOK GARDEN VISIT: Today we do an interesting visit to a private Tea Garden ‘Bermiok Gardens’. We will arrange for a nice tea tasting session and a session on how Fine Leaf Tea is made/processed. This is a one off experience not to be missed!
BONFIRE NIGHT: Arrive late evening into the Resort and check In for the night. Bonfire and a round of drinks to close off the trip!
Day 7 >>
RETURN: Rabong - Airport, After breakfast we depart for the airport. The drive will be approx. 4-5 hrs depending on traffic. We recommend reaching the airport at least 2 hours prior to departure time due to congestion at the airport.
