Kareri Village to Kareri Lake Trek

Kareri Village, Kareri Lake, Riyoti Camp

Begin from Kareri Village and trek through silver oak, rhododendron and chir pine forests. Follow the Nyund stream, pause near Riyoti Camp for a rest, and continue toward Kareri Lake. Arrive at camp near the lake for dinner and an overnight stay in dome tents.

After breakfast at camp, begin the downhill trek back to Kareri Village. End the trek with mountain memories and photos of the lake and surrounding Dhauladhar scenery.

Know Before You Go

This trek is suitable for participants aged approximately 16 to 45 years.
The trek is rated easy to moderate and covers about 20 km round trip.
The standard trek starts and ends at Kareri Village.
Typical start time is around 10:00 AM on Day 1 and the trek ends around 2:00 PM on Day 2.
Kareri Lake sits at high altitude and weather can change quickly.
Network coverage is very limited or unavailable on the trail and at camp.
The lake is generally best visited from April to December.
From December to March, the lake may freeze and may require technical gear not included in this trip.
Participants should have a reasonable level of fitness for uphill and downhill walking.
Bonfire is subject to weather and local conditions.
